The Cortland Fund

Small gifts, when added together, grow powerful. They become scholarships, research grants, cultural arts programs and so much more. Every dollar contributed to the annual fund helps ensure academic excellence and enhances the scope, breadth and quality of the SUNY Cortland experience.

President's Circle Gifts

Your annual participation as a member of the President's Circle strengthens the university’s ability to grow and remain competitive — enhancing the institution and the value of a SUNY Cortland degree. This distinction honors those who make an annual gift of $1,000 or more.

Scholarships and Endowments

SUNY Cortland has a legacy of providing a life-changing education to deserving students regardless of their background or circumstance. Scholarships and program endowments enhance the student experience while also alleviating some of the financial burden students face in pursuing a college degree.

Planned Giving

With planned giving, you can achieve your philanthropic goals while meeting your, and your family’s, lifestyle needs. Options include gifts of cash, stocks and estates.

Naming Opportunities

The program offers donors the opportunity to attach a name to a designated facility or space, or to a non-physical asset, such as a school, department, faculty position or scholarship.

Stock

Gifts of appreciated stocks, bonds and mutual funds are an effective choice when making a gift to the university. Receive a charitable deduction for the fair market value of the gift and avoid all capital gains tax. Gifts of securities may be made in way of three ways: wire transfer, stock certificate in your name or stock certificate in the foundation's name.
