FAQ Details

What is a common exam?

A common exam is typically a large, combined exam where a department uses the same exam instrument across all course sections. These exams require multiple rooms to be offered.

Typically, common exams are required where an accrediting body requires a specific exam format or has specific exam requirements.

If your department needs a common exam time, please contact the Student Registration and Records Office, who will work with your school dean to avoid exam conflicts across common exams.
