Teagan Bradway, English Department, authored the lead chapter, “Affect and Aesthetics,” recently published in the Routledge Companion to Politics and Literature in English, edited by Matthew Stratton.

Teagan Bradway, English Department, was awarded the Hunt-Simes Visiting Junior Chair Fellowship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Advanced Research Centre at the University of Sydney to teach in the Institute in Sexuality Studies in 2024.
Melissa Morris
Melissa Morris, Physics Department, was a coauthor on a paper published in Icarus titled “Sedimentary laminations in the Isheyevo (CH/CBb) carbonaceous chondrite formed by gentle impact-plume sweep-up.” Also, Morris presented an invited talk at the Chondrules as Astrophysical Objects conference in Vancouver, BC, Canada. As a member of the Science Organizing Committee, she also helped organize the conference over the last year.
Varya McCaslin-Doyle and Krista Natale
Varya McCaslin-Doyle and Krista Natale, The Help Center, presented at the SUNY Wizard Conference held in Syracuse on Nov. 16 and 17. They prepared a panel discussion to talk about the challenges of training a successful student workforce in the continuously changing world of information technology.
Gigi Peterson
Gigi Peterson, History Department, presented a poster session at the annual conference of the National Council of the Social Studies, which centered on the theme “Advancing Social Justice.” Due to the virtual nature of the conference, held Dec. 4 through 6, her presentation, “A Community Action Project Pilot: Teacher Candidates Take ‘Informed Action,’" will be on online display through April. She looks forward to adding sections on the Fall 2020 Community Action Projects carried out by teacher candidates in her Foundations of Social Studies class.
Tyler Bradway
Tyler Bradway, English Department, had his article, “Queer Exuberance: The Politics of Affect in Jeanette Winterson’s Visceral Fiction,” published in the March issue of Mosaic: A Journal for the Interdisciplinary Study of Literature. Also, he had an essay titled “Critical Immodesty and Other Grammars for Aesthetic Agency,” published in Stanford University’s digital salon Arcade: Literature, Humanities, and the World. Bradway presented a paper, “Reading in Crisis: Queer Hermeneutics in Samuel Delany’s Para-Academic AIDS Fiction” at the 2015 American Comparative Literature Association Conference held March 26-29 in Seattle, Wash. In January, Bradway presented his paper, “Trigger Warning: Kathy Acker’s Visceral Pedagogy,” at the 2015 Modern Language Association Conference in Vancouver, Canada.
Doug Langhans
Doug Langhans, Admissions, was a panelist on the State Study Consortia: Pool Resources & Increase Exposure! webinar presented by International English Language Testing System (IELTS) USA. IELTS hosted a variety of online workshops throughout the summer discussing various topics related to international education. Langhans, Study New York past-chair, and a number of other industry leaders discussed the benefits of forming a study state consortium to help increase the exposure of colleges and universities to international students and scholars. Langhans has been the SUNY Cortland representative for Study New York since it was founded in 2009 and has been a member of the Executive Leadership Team since 2016.
Tom Lickona
Tom Lickona, Childhood/Early Childhood Education Department, has been awarded a $10,000 contract with the Kansas State Board of Education for the “Character Education Partnership Grant.” The period of performance is Feb. 21 to June 30, 2011.
Li Jin
Li Jin, Geology Department, co-authored a paper that was recently accepted for publication in Science of the Total Environment. The paper is titled “Water Quality Modelling of the Mekong River Basin: Climate Change and Socioeconomics Drive Flow and Nutrient Flux Changes to the Mekong Delta.”
