Natural States
October 26-December 11, 2015
Nature has always been embedded in the notion of the utopian landscape and shaped our perspective on urban planning and conservation ethics. Yet, the boundaries of what is natural versus manmade has become blurred in an age when human intervention exists in ostensibly natural environments, such as national parks and botanical gardens. Bringing together fifteen contemporary artists working in various media, Natural States assembles a selection of works that depict the absurdities, artificialities, and incongruities of these built environments.
