SUNY Cortland’s Native American Film Series will open on Tuesday, Oct. 26. Presented by the College’s Native American Studies Program, the cinema series is free and open to the public. “Reel Injun,” by Cree filmmaker Neil Diamond, and three additional films, will be shown at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays in Sperry Center, Room 205.

Lou Marinoff, the international best-selling author of “Plato, Not Prozac!” and “Therapy for the Sane,” will lecture on Tuesday, Oct. 26, at SUNY Cortland.

A recital featuring music associated with the career of the Moscow trumpeter, Timofei Dokshizer, will be performed by SUNY Cortland Performing Arts Department faculty members on Tuesday, Nov. 2. Ralph Dudgeon will play trumpet and Marina Gorelaya will perform on piano beginning at 8 p.m. in the Dowd Fine Arts Center Theatre. The recital is free and open to the public.

The U.S. Department of Education has awarded SUNY Cortland a renewable, cooperative agreement to begin a five-year project to enhance the special education and general education curricula within its School of Education.

SUNY Cortland's month-long International Celebration begins Wednesday, Oct. 13, and recognizes internationalization efforts and awareness-raising opportunities to explore global issues in and out of the classroom.

International gospel recording artist and SUNY Cortland alumna J. Christine Johnson Sinclair ’89 will headline the 25th Anniversary Gospel Concert on Sunday, Oct. 24. Guest host is Cortland alumnus John Edwards ’86.

The Broadway musical comedy “Kiss Me, Kate” will be presented by the Performing Arts Department for six performances in the Dowd Fine Arts Theatre beginning Oct. 22.

Suzanne Bloom, nationally known children’s book author and illustrator, will lecture on literacy education and children’s books on Tuesday, Oct. 19.
