Getting to Campus

Maps and Directions

Located halfway between Syracuse and Binghamton in New York’s stunning Finger Lakes region, Cortland can be reached via Interstate Route 81, Route 11, Routes 281 and 41 or Route 13 from Ithaca.

Area Airports

Choose from nearby commercial airports in Syracuse and Ithaca or others a bit further away in Binghamton and Rochester.

Bus and Ground Transportation

Travel directly to Cortland by car or take Amtrak to Syracuse and then catch a bus or cab to Cortland. Greyhound and New York Trailways offer bus and motor coach service with drop off in Cortland. Within the city of Cortland, taxi and limousine services, as well as Cortland Transit, make traveling easy.

Getting Around Campus

Parking

For parking information about admissions visits, special events, evenings and weekends, check the links below or contact the Parking Operations and Security Services Office at 607-753-4123.

Campus Bus Schedule

The campus bus runs at half-hour intervals from our western parking lots to key buildings and facilities. You can also use the late-night campus shuttle, the Sunday Bus or a weekend shopping bus, as well as the Friday and Saturday Downtown Shuttle.

Local Resources

Central New York

Known for its sweeping vistas and glacial lakes, Central New York offers extensive outdoor activities, farmer’s markets, cider mills, sporting events, auto racing, concerts, festivals, museums, bus and boat tours, art galleries, fine dining, theatre, historical sites, annual heritage celebrations and some of the best vineyards and wineries in the country.

City of Cortland

In a beautiful natural setting at the intersection of the seven valleys in central New York State sits the thriving city of Cortland. Just a short walk from the SUNY Cortland campus, the downtown business district retains its Victorian heritage and serves a population of about 20,000 residents.

Arts and Culture

At SUNY Cortland you can view exhibitions in the Dowd Gallery and Brooks Museum, listen to music and lectures, watch theatre and attend special events. Around the central New York region, you can enjoy a wide range of entertainment.

Stay on top of campus news with The Dragon WSUC-FM radio and the Dragon Chronicle campus newspaper. Broadcast and cable television outlets from Syracuse to Binghamton cover local news, as does the Cortland Standard, and other newspapers from Ithaca, Syracuse and Binghamton.
