Summer Session

Thank you for your interest in Summer Session at SUNY Cortland. If you want to get ahead, catch up, or explore something new in summer, SUNY Cortland has something for you. 

Special Note: University offices are closed on Wednesday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth.

Upcoming Deadlines
Registration for Session II and Term C remains open through Monday, June 24 and Term D remains open through Thursday, July 11 via myRedDragon. Visiting students must first submit the Visiting Student Form, if not yet completed. 

The deadline to drop a Term C course is Tuesday, June 25 at 11:59 p.m. via myRedDragon.
The deadline to drop a Session II course is Sunday, June 30 at 11:59 p.m. via myRedDragon.

The deadline to withdraw from a Term C course is Monday, July 1 at 4 p.m. via the online form. Visit the registered students page for more information on drops and withdraws.

Summer Session 2024 Dates

To accommodate busy student schedules, Summer Session includes multiple terms and most courses are 5 weeks long.

*No classes or assignments shall be due in observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 27, Juneteenth on Wednesday, June 19 and Independence Day on Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5.

Tuition and Billing

Summer Session 2024 tuition and fee rates are available through Student Accounts.

Bills for Summer Session 2024 are due on Friday, May 3. All students are billed electronically beginning in mid-April. You can view and pay your tuition and fees online through myRedDragon. It is important to check your email and account regularly for changes in charges, financial aid or other billed items. For directions on how to view/print your bill, please see View Your Bill. The Student Accounts Office provides general billing and payment information. Students who do not provide payment by the due date will be deregistered.

Summer Session traditionally features a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses, with several options for General Education, Foreign Language and Writing Intensive at the undergraduate level.
