Advising Resources Course Proposal Process

Course Schedule

The public course schedule is now available and provides complete course details. The Preliminary Course Listing remains available and lists undergraduate courses by term and graduate courses by department/program. 

Contracts

Following approval of proposals by the school dean, faculty contracts will be e-mailed to all faculty in early February 2024. Contracts must be returned for the course to remain on the course schedule. Electronic acceptance of the contracts is acceptable. The deadline to return contracts is Wednesday, February 21.

Summer Session 2024 Dates

To accommodate busy student schedules, Summer Session includes multiple terms and most courses are 5 weeks long. 

Full Summer Session (10-week)
May 15 - July 29

May 15 - June 20

June 4 - June 20

Summer Session II
June 24 - July 29

Term C
June 24 - July 10

Term D
July 11 - July 29

*No classes or assignments shall be due in observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 27, Juneteenth on Wednesday, June 19 and Independence Day on Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5.

Please view the Registration page for more detailed information regarding registration, including deadlines for each specific term.  Specific registration dates for Summer Session 2024 will be available later in the fall semester.

Visiting Students

Registration for visiting students opens on Monday, April 8 at 8 a.m. Please view the Registration page for more information on non-SUNY Cortland student registration. 

Credit Limits

Please visit the Registration page for more information on credit limits in Summer Session.  We encourage all advisors to submit an approval form for any student seeking 7+ credits in Summer Session. This will ensure associate dean review and avoid potential follow-up with students who enrolled in excess credit hours.
